connections of the world Our piece of work is a representation of the way the internet works. We had an idea to make a literaL "WORLD WIDE WEB', attaching pins to some capital cities on the map and winding cotton around them. These cottons and colours represent the millions of connections between different people all over the world. After creating this huge map, we decided that it displays the way the internet affects people's lives, but not the way it actually appears to us.
The internet cannot be touched, smelled, heard or tasted, just seen as a mixture of colours on our computer screens. With this in mind, we made the piece more three-dimensional by bringing all connections together and meeting on one faceless individual. This is a portrayal of the way any one person can be in touch with the entire world, at the touch of a button. -Hannah, Sibel, Annika K. and Henrieke
