the pirateship
Together we addressed two possible ideas for this project based on reflection
and transperency. The first idea we looked at was a wire mesh that contained
pieces of reflective material such as glass or mirror. It was placed between
two mirrors creating a reflected image. Tthe second idea was a boat in a glass
bottle. We decided to merge these two ideas to create a wire boat in the style
of a pirate ship. It has mirror sails and reflective metal pieces on it. The
wire creates small reflective pieces of light and the mirrors and pieces of
metal reflect bigger pieces of light and actual images that are placed in
front of them. The only non reflective material used in The Pirate Ship is
the wooden stick used to hold up the sails and pieces of wood at the front
of the boat. Other than these the piece is entirely reflective.
