The results of our workshops

Each workshop focusses on a different aspect of transparency. The initial workshop in Chalon-sur-Saône made our students question the realistic potential of photography and digital imaging. The preparatory workshop in Seelze for this initial exchange demanded the German students to question their idea of transparency.

The follow-up workshop in Seelze focussed on the concept of "virtuality", thus the potential and existing uses of virtual spaces in connection with the question of transparency. In short, it tried to make the virtual real by questioning the amount in which humans make themselves transparent by using virtual spaces, such as "myspace" or "second life".

During the third workshop in England, the students discovered the asthetic qualities of transparent and reflective materials. While collecting their impressions, the mixed art groups created very diverse pieces of art which reflect the multitude of ways in which reflections influence our lives.

The forth workshop in Chalon-sur-Saône finally tackled the question how transparent our environment is to us. Thus the students engaged on a philosophical tour which questioned man's relationship to nature.
